The lovely Sharon from Little Miss Bunting organised a short course for us to learn a few sewing techniques but also to give something back by teaming up with charity Dress a Girl around the World. She sorted us with pdf patterns for a peasant dress that would be long lasting. She showed us some techniques for seams to make the dresses hard wearing and brought us some 100% cotton which would fare better when washed on stones, and she left us to it with a promise to return when were done.
The result is a rainbow of lovely dresses!
We had the dresses on show at our recent celebration event. People thought they were wonderful and that it was a great idea. The dresses are now being sent to the charity to distribute around the world. But, that need not be the end as the charity is in desperate need of shorts too! We better get cracking!
